Terms & Conditions

  • Your contract is with me Colin Samuelson – Notary Public and is governed by English law.
  • In providing me with office and meeting facilities in its offices Glanvilles Damant does not assume any responsibility to you or anyone else for the work I undertake or carry out as a Notary.
  • Documents to be notarised must be in English or accompanied by an English translation.
  • Unless otherwise agreed in writing, my fees and disbursements are payable at our meeting or on the day I sign my notarial certificate, whichever is the earlier.
  • I accept payment in cash or by cheque or transfer to my bank account or by credit or debit card(Visa and Mastercard only). All payments must be in sterling. Cheques should be in favour of Colin Samuelson Notary Public. Bank transfers should be made in accordance with the instructions shown on my bills.
  • I am not registered for VAT. If you are registered for VAT, you will not be able to recover any VAT I incur in providing my services to you.

Fees & Expenses

My Fees depend on:

  • The type of document(s) requiring notarisation.
  • The number of documents requiring Notarisation at the same appointment.

An additional fee will be payable if you require me to arrange for Legalisation.
I will provide an estimate of the Fees to you via email or in writing before your appointment.
In addition there may be certain expenses to be paid including:

  • Legalisation fees to the UK Foreign Office for the Apostille certificate (£30 per document plus £5.50 courier fees.
  • Fees to a foreign Embassy or Consulate in London for further Legalisation (charges vary.
  • Fees to HEDD to verify academic qualification certificates (charges vary)
