All notaries are regulated by the Master of the Faculties of the Archbishop of Canterbury. The Master is responsible for the qualification and regulation of notaries. He makes the Qualification Rules, appoints the Qualifications Board, consults with the Qualifications Board and delegates some functions to the Qualifications Board.
He makes and enforces the Practice and Disciplinary Rules. He supervises the award of the Faculty and the issue of annual practising certificates.
